Dry start to February after wet January

January finished with a rainfall total of 178.2mm, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.

This was 61.2mm, or 52.3 per cent, above the January average of 117mm.

The month had 25 days with rainfall greater than one millimetre and eight days with more than five millimetres.

In the first week of February, only 2.3mm has been recorded.

This is less than two per cent of the February average of 155mm.
