Deferral sought of infrastructure contribution reform

Central Coast Council is writing to the Minister for Local Government requesting that a draft Bill affecting developer contributions be withdrawn "until such time as current and proposed reviews have been completed".

Council Administrator Mr Rik Hart said: "It is essential that councils and communities are not left worse off by the NSW Government's infrastructure contributions reform agenda."

He said the council's letter supported the Local Government NSW's advocacy.

"This highlights the broader issues councils are continually faced with.

"The framework local government operates under is archaic, restrictive and conflicting," Mr Hart said.
