Busy month for Umina bowling club

April has been a busy month at Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club with Scroungers restarting, Easter events and Pennant nominations being taken.

Club president president Mr Tom Burgmann said the Scroungers mufti event would be held "every Sunday afternoon when we have green space available".

"The initial handicaps will be based on pennant gradings."

The Easter Saturday Mixed Triples was played with three games of 10 ends.

On Easter Monday, the women's club ran a mixed turnaround triples tournament over 21 ends.

Mr Burgmann said: "Pennant nominations are closing on April 28.

"At the moment we only have 36 nominations, which is only enough for three Pennant sides with no reserves.

He said he was hoping for at least one more Pennant side.

"We are also going to allocate points towards the Bowler of the Year and Achievement Awards for those players who participate in Pennants."

The club will hold its 2021 Presentation Day on Saturday, April 30.

"This will be an evening event, with presentations, a meal, music, dancing, entertainment and a lot of fun," said Mr Burgmann.

Tickets are $25 a head.
