Last championship played in time for presentation night

The Handicap Pairs Championship Final was played at the Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club on Thursday, November 24.

"This was the last championship of 2022," said club secretary Mr Peter Springett.

"We managed to get them all played before the club's presentation night.

"This was a great final between the best two Handicap Pairs teams for 2022.

"We had a previous winner of this popular event, Glenn Simington, playing with Grant Ambrose.

"They played 'new kids on the block', Peter Benfield in his first championship with fellow championship rookie Martin O'Malley."

Mr Springett said that Peter and Martin got out to an early lead, on a tricky rink.

"Grant and Simo came back, but Peter and Martin held their nerve and hung onto win the Handicap Pairs Championship."
