Swimming carnival planned for second day back

Ettalong Public School is planning to hold its swimming carnival on February 1, the second day of the school year.

The carnival will be for participants only.

"Only students who can confidently and capably swim 50 metres, the full length of the Olympic-sized swimming pool, unaided and without stopping, who plan on participating in events will attend," said relieving principal Ms Jodie Campbell.

"There will be no novelty events or free time.

"Students who do not enter swimming events will not attend and will remain at school.

"Year 2 students who turn eight in 2023, who are competent swimmers and plan to go in events at the carnival, are also invited."

Ms Campbell said money (cash only) and permission notes must be returned to the office this year.
