The importance of pruning tomato bushes
Team 9 students from Brisbane Water Secondary College have visited the Umina campus farm to learn about pruning tomato bushes.
"It's important to trim away all the leaves from the ground to avoid parasites and disease," said campus principal Ms Kerrie O'Heir.
"And it's best to trim from below the flowers, ensuring maxing growth of the tomato.
"Did you know that you can re-pot the limbs you've trimmed from a tomato plant?"
