Arboretum demolishes its old cottage verandah
A working bee was held at the Pearl Beach Arboretum Working Bee yesterday, Sunday, April 28, to demolish its old cottage verandah.
Volunteers were invited to wear closed shoes, bring your gloves and recycle some of the materials.
It is hoped the replacement verandah-pavilion will be completed by the end of June.

So far, $6300 of a target of $58,870 has been raised.
While the roof is being built in May, the association is wanting to raise money to cover more of the cost for the verandah roof and floor.
The new covered outdoor area is expected to provide for events such as Opera in the Arboretum, the Pearl Beach Ephemeral Art Trail, and Community Christmas Carols, as well as providing a place for arboretum volunteers to meet, learn and educate about the crucial role played by the arboretum's conservation work.
