Clean4shore picks up two Landcare awards

Clean4shore co-ordinator Mr Graham Johnston picked up two awards at the Greater Sydney Landcare Awards on Friday, May 23.

Clean4shore received a Highly Commended award for engaging the community in a Landcare program.

Mr Johnston accepted the other award, a junior landcare award, on behalf of Kincumber High School.

"The flooding rain prevented attendance by Kincumber High from attending the presentation at the Sydney Olympic Centre," he said.

"Kincumber High School was a joint winner in the Junior Landcare Award targeting schools' contribution to Landcare.

"With 28 schools currently involved in the Clean4shore program from Hornsby Shire to the Hunter, Kincumber High's awards represents all of the students that contribute the bulk of our 907 volunteers involved in the program during 2024."

Mr Johnston said: "Success for Clean4shore and Kincumber High School at the Greater Sydney Landcare Awards follows the program's efforts over the past two years."
