Shade trees group awards 'tree trophies'
The Grow Urban Shade Trees group are awarding "tree trophies" to residents who have given good care to trees planted by the group.
"We wanted to thank our many residents who have taken on a tree to care for," said group member Ms Jen Wilder.
"Some of the trees are doing especially well so we have awarded these with a trophy.
"It is quite a task, especially during weeks of no rain, to be diligent with watering.
"But it pays off with healthy growth."
Ms Wilder said the group was looking for trees deserving a trophy.
"Have you got your tree trophy yet?" she asked.
"If you feel that we have missed giving your tree a trophy, please let us know."
