Helpers hear of programs funded by Red Shield appeal

Members of the Rotary Club of Woy Woy spent a cold, windy Sunday on the roadside to help with the annual Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.

The following Tuesday, the club heard from voluntary Red Shield zone chairman Mr Jackson Tumpey and corps officer Ms Lesley Newton about the programs the Salvos provided.

"It was so pleasing to hear that 90 per cent of funds raised on the Peninsula stay on the Peninsula to support the Army's mission," said club president Ms Joan Redmond.

Volunteers present on the night received certificates and fast food vouchers which were donated to Mary Mac's Place.
