Hospital seeks consumer representatives
Brisbane Waters Private Hospital is currently seeking voluntary consumer representatives for its Medication Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, and Clinical Care committees.
"Expressions of interest are now open for consumers who are interested in informing the direction of the future of Brisbane Waters Private Hospital," said risk and quality manager Ms Rachel Horth.
"The consumer representative will work with the committees to evaluate, plan and monitor our health service provision."
She said a consumer was defined as someone who had previously used, was currently using or in the future was likely to use the services provided by the hospital.
"Brisbane Waters Private Hospital is committed to enhancing our services through consumer engagement.
"This is a volunteer role that ensures that consumer's needs rights and concerns are considered in decision making processes."
She said the representatives must have had experience of private hospital services and must not be a current employee of Healthe Care.
They must show enthusiasm for active involvement in quality improvement and be able to attend scheduled meetings a minimum of four times a year.
The hospital would provide orientation about the hospital and the committees, as well as about the roles and responsibilities of the consumer representative.
Anyone interested should email Ms Horth at rachel.horth@healthecare.com.au.
