Little Theatre production to open in renovated theatre
Woy Woy Little Theatre has opened bookings for its next season, which will take place in a renovated Peninsula Theatre.
"The day after the last play finished the workers moved in," said box office manager Mr Graham Vale.
"Out went the old seats and carpet.
"We are now back in and the seats look fantastic.
"There are also more accessibility seats available.
"So after new silent air conditioning at the beginning of the year, it's like a brand new experience."
The Little Theatre's next production will be Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang.
"We have been wanting to bring this Tony Award best play to you for years," said Mr Vale. "Finally, in one month it opens."
It will open on Friday, July 25, with 10 performances over three weekends.
"Christopher Durang is known for his outrageous comedies that, underneath the absurdity, have profound searches for optimism and connection with others.
"The story told by the endearingly eccentric characters in this play show us why Durang is a member of the American Theater Hall of Fame."
Directed by Terry Collins, the cast includes Andy Kabanoff as Vanya, Darienne Knight as Sonia, Yvonne Berry-Porter as Masha, Chris Cherry as Cassandra, Alicia Medbury as Nina and Jake Cain-Roser as Spike.
Stage manager will be Fran Armstrong. Tech and lighting designer will be Lloyd Grounds. Assistant director will be Terry Mathews, and set designer will be Stephen Pembroke.
