Brisbane Water Rotary takes three district awards
Brisbane Water Rotary co-presidents Ms Marion Cornish and Ms Jayne Mote have finished their term of office with the club scoring three awards at the recent District 9685 Presidents' Dinner.
"We won separate Excellence Awards for Youth Service, Public Image and Club Bulletin in the Small Clubs division," said club secretary Ms Di Bartok.
"Our club prides itself on its youth work, playing a role in various Rotary youth programs, as well as mentoring a student from Ettalong Public School, 12 year old Max, who wants to take up leadership roles as he grows older.
"This year, our Youth programs were led by Marion Cornish, who also juggled co-presidency."
Ms Bartok, who is also the club's public image director said she was thrilled with the awards she has helped the club win.
"As far as public image is concerned, I can't take all the credit.
"That was down to all the club members who helped highlight our activities, notably Jayne Mote who is constantly selling the Rotary message, and Mitch Gordon, who is a whiz on social media," she said.
