Aged care building work due for completion in October
Building work at a Woy Woy aged care home continues to progress well, according to its chief executive.
Work at Blue Wave Living is on target for completion by mid-October, said chief executive Mr Matt Downie.
"The certification process will take a further two to three weeks following that.
"While we had hoped to deliver part of the current stage of works a little early, this now seems unlikely due to a delay in the delivery of some finishing elements.
"However, we do still aim to open up most of the new Palm Sails courtyard early, once completed.
"We expect this should occur by early September.
"This current stage of the building works is exciting in that it finally joins our two buildings together as one," Mr Downie said.
He said this provided a central linkage improving access and movement though the facility as a whole, along with delivering some more new spaces.
"This includes a new hair salon, a private library-sitting room space, a dedicated physio room, and the balance of the Driftwood Household.
"There will also be a new larger laundry built, along with other key staff offices and spaces, including a new staff room."
