Easter Saturday book fair celebrates 47 years

The Pearl Beach annual Easter Saturday Book Fair will be held in the Pearl Beach Memorial Hall from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, March 30.

"The event is the largest single fundraising activity managed by the Pearl Beach Progress Association," said association publicity officer Ms Lynne Lillico.

"The fair is celebrating 47 years, and promises to be the best ever."

The fair includes novels, biographies, children's books, art books, house and garden books, as well as puzzles, CDs, DVDs and Blue Ray discs.

It will also include a selection of vinyl records.

"There is always a surprise or two among the thousand of titles of pre-loved books," said book fair co-ordinator Ms Alison Phillips.

As well as selling books, the fair will include the Back Deck Cafe, a raffle for an Easter hamper and a "Homemade by Locals" stall in front of the Memorial Hall.

Entry is free.

Cash or credit cards will be accepted to make a purchase or buy raffle tickets.

Proceeds from the book fair and raffle go toward projects in Pearl Beach and the upkeep and maintenance of the Memorial Hall.

With inquiries, phone 0487 444 537.
