Peninsula receives less than one 10th monthly rainfall

Mid-March, the Peninsula has received less than 10 per cent of its average rainfall for the month.

A total of 13.1mm had fallen by the morning of Friday, March 15, including a fall of 10.5mm recorded that morning, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.

The average rainfall for March is 181mm, with 13.1mm representing just 7.2 per cent of this figure.

Total rainfall so far this year is 227.7mm, which is about half the first quarter average of 456mm.
