Naplan testing starts at Umina Beach

Naplan testing for Year 3 and Year 5 students at Umina Beach Public School has started.

"We remind our students and families that this assessment is just a single point on a child's education journey," said principal Ms Karen Wardlaw.

"At Umina Beach Public School, we value every opportunity to learn more about your child's strengths as well as areas for improvement.

"We also acknowledge that our little learners are growing and developing their skills and knowledge in many amazing ways that won't be captured via this assessment process."

Ms Wardlaw said: "Getting feedback on our learning is important, but we are more than a score."

She said students should not stress, but do their everyday best with a positive mindset.

"Stay focused on striving for continued learning.

"Ask for help if you need it.

"Teachers are here to help."
