Three Anzac services at aged care facility
Umina aged care facility Peninsula Villages commemorated the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli Landings with three Anzac services on Friday, April 25.
At Pozieres House, Mr Bill Ide laid a wreath for the Retired and Former Police Association Central Coast branch.
Don Leggett House held a service in its main hall.
Pam Palmer House along with family, friends, volunteers' staff and residents welcomed community members.
Residents from Cooinda Village, churches, Rotary clubs and the general public were greeted with a beautiful morning in the courtyard, with close to 200 people attending.
Aunty Di O'Brien from Mingaletta started with the Welcome to Country.
Chief executive Mr Colin Osborne, nurse practitioner Ms Leanne Northrop, and residents delivered speeches and prayers.
Ms Stephanie Wood from the Uniting Church played the hymns.
Chief operating officer Ms Jackie Bennett, her granddaughters, and Mr Jesse Corda laid a wreath on behalf of Member for Robertson Dr Gordon Reid.
Mr Martin Wellington also laid a wreath in memory of his father and uncle, who both served in World War One.
In Pam Palmer House, a memorial table displayed photos and items owned by residents that represented their connection with the Anzacs.
This was a highlight of the morning.
