Writers' festival seeks student stories
The Words on the Waves Writers Festival is seeking entries in its short story competition for the budding young writers.
The competition is part of the festival's Ripples Schools Program, "a program geared towards fostering literacy for the next generation of readers and writers", said organiser Ms Angela Bennetts.
This year's competition theme is centred around wood.
"Into the Woods represents stepping into the unknown, perhaps the dangerous or the exciting.
"What experience will send young imaginations soaring?"
Entries go into the running for prizes for both themselves and their "submitting adult".
Entry is free and closes on Friday, May 9.
More information about submitting a story and the prizes on offer are available on the festival website https://wordsonthewaves.com.au/.
