Everglades minor singles final contested
The 2024-25 Everglades Men's Minor Singles final was contested on Friday, July 4.
The match had to be rescheduled as the greens were closed due to the East Coast low that struck the Peninsula during the week.
The contest between Greg Linnert and Kevin Hughes ran over 30 ends.
Midway through, Greg held a four-shot lead.
However, Kevin won some consecutive ends to stay right in the game.
Greg led by just a single shot after Kevin picked up a three on the 29th end.
On the 30th end, Kevin was holding, but Greg was able to draw and take the shot with his last delivery.
The final score was Greg Linnert 25 defeating Kevin Hughes 23.
This was the last event in the 2024-25 Everglades program.
The 2025-26 program is already underway with the Men's Major Singles, being the first event under way.
