Push bikes and trolleys found with help of scuba divers
The Clean4Shore marine clean-up group pulled push bikes, scooters, an umbrella, an outboard motor and shopping trolleys from waters around the Peninsula with the help of volunteer divers from The Scuba Gym Australia.
On a very chilly morning, three volunteer divers joined coordinator Ms Lyndi Leggett and Clean4shore on the barge.
Departing Lions Park, Woy Woy, the group's first task was the two public jetties at Saratoga with push bikes and fishing tackle immediately coming out of water.
Visibility was very poor and the wind freezing, which prompted an exit to Woy Woy public jetty.
A good crowd was present, waiting for the ferry service as the team came across the shopping trolleys.
An outboard motor needed a little more muscle to retrieve, as did a Council street sign still with the concrete footing attached.
Fishing tackle, a camp stove, a plastic mat and a scooter filled the boat.
Smaller items were difficult to find due to the underwater visibility.
A total of 320 kilos was off loaded at Woy Woy Tip with the metal items to be recycled.
