Immersive cultural experiences for Naidoc Week

Umina Beach Public School held "immersive cultural experiences" for all students on Thursday and Friday, July 2 and 3, to celebrate Naidoc Week.

"Thanks to Gawura Cultural Immersions, every student will engage in rich cultural experiences including art, dance, culture, indigenous games, artefacts and story-telling to learn, honour and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture," said principal Ms Karen Wardlaw.

The Parents and Citizens Association provided a boomerang for every student, as well as paint pens for the students to create their cultural designs.

The week ended with a Naidoc whole-school and community celebration.
