Swans dominate game against Hawks
The Peninsula Swans under-11 Reds AFL team dominated their game against the Hawks on Sunday, July 6.
After some slow starts in recent week, it was evident during the warm up the team "was here to play".
The focus immediately carried through to the game with an electric start, managing to be five goals ahead by the end of the first quarter.
The pressure continued into the second, with the team dominating the midfield and delivering to their forwards who were able to create space and maximise their scoring opportunities.
The backline stayed busy, keeping the Hawks goalless and locking the ball in its forward half.
Strong attack at the ball and clean handling saw defence turned into attack rapidly and provided more opportunities for Swans' goals.
The magnets got moved on the white board at half time but the plan didn't change.
The execution of the team strategy and silky skills remained, resulting in three players scoring their first Swans goals and the Swans moving further ahead in the second half..
The game was the best overall performance for the season to date.
